Your guide to Free Kinder at Kidz R Kidz
Understand funded kindergarten support and how it works alongside long day care and CCS.
Free Kinder in long day care
Kidz R Kidz Early Learning Centre is a proud provider of the Victorian Government’s Free Kinder initiative.
Eligible families can receive a Free Kinder fee offset of up to $2,101 in 2026. In long day care, this reduces your out-of-pocket fees after any Child Care Subsidy has been applied; it does not make the whole day of care free. The amount may be adjusted for the funded hours and period of enrolment.
Free Kinder supports access to a funded kindergarten program in the two years before school. Enrolling your child in a kindergarten program for 2 years can help develop their skills so they do well in life and school.
Free Kinder is for everyone. You do not need to be an Australian citizen to receive Free Kinder.
Our Three-Year-Old Kindergarten program has a minimum booking of 3 days per week. This is our centre’s booking arrangement; it is separate from the Victorian Government’s Free Kinder eligibility requirements.
If your child is enrolled in our kindergarten program, you will receive a saving from your out-of-pocket fees. We will apply these savings to your invoices weekly from February to December across the year subject to enrolment commencement date.
Remember, you can only enrol your child in one funded kindergarten or Pre-Prep program at any one time.
Questions to ask before you enrol
Does Free Kinder make the whole day free?
No. At a long day care service, the fee offset reduces your out-of-pocket fees after CCS. Ask us how the offset will appear on your invoices.
Can I enrol in two funded kindergarten programs?
A child can only be enrolled in one funded kindergarten or Pre-Prep program at a time. Talk with us about any existing funded enrolment.
How many days do I need to book?
Our three-year-old kindergarten program has a minimum booking of three days per week. This is a centre booking arrangement, separate from government eligibility requirements.
